Lexden Springs School caters for pupils designated as Severe, Profound & Multiple and Autistic according to the Local Authority Learning Disabilities Scale.
All pupils must have an Education Health Care Plan, or must be in the process of having an Education Health Care Plan prepared.
Parent/Carer’s considering Lexden Springs School should, in the first instance, contact the Local Authority. Once Local Authority approval is given the schools admissions process can commence.
Pupils can and do enter Lexden Springs School at any age, often transferring from another school or County. Any transfer is discussed with all parties and approved by the Local Authority. Once the transfer is approved Lexden Springs School is named as the preferred school and the Statement/Education Health Care Plan is updated.
Home/School Transport can be provided by the Local Authority for every pupil, providing that Lexden Springs School is formally named in the Statement and the pupil resides within the school catchment area. Parent/Carer’s must arrange this directly with the Transport Service.
As pupil numbers continue to rise Lexden Springs School is working closely with the Local Authority to expand its provision.
