I was elected as a councillor in May 2016 and I became the youngest member in the council chamber. I currently hold the Shadow Portfolio Holder position for Resources. The area I represent includes Lexden, Braiswick, Eight Ash Green, West Bergholt, Aldham and Fordham Heath. I have attempted to get involved in as much as I can to support each community and this has included schools and community groups for young people, such as West Bergholt Youth Group.
I have previously worked for an investment bank and in a couple of weeks time I will be studying a Masters at UCL in the History and Economics departments.
In particular, I was keen to become a Governor of Lexden Springs not only because of the above reason but also because it is an exciting time to be getting involved with the school because of the planned moved. There are also more sentimental reasons. I have had family who have attended the school and I hold it in high regard because of this and the wider contribution it makes to the community. Walking around the school for the first time a few months ago was a humbling experience and I am privileged to be involved as a Governor.
I hope that my contacts in the local authorities can help support the school, including regarding the move and that my community spirit and financial skills will be an addition.
